9/22/08
The girls’ cross-country team placed first in the Division III race at the Western New York Officials Invite on Saturday.  Amber Lehman led Wilson by finishing 2nd  overall with a time of 21:27.  Kari Kopchick placed 6th, Stephanie Paduano 8th, Alania Kopchick 9th, and Savannah King ran a personal best to round out Wilson’s top five.

The boys’ cross-country team placed 3rd on Saturday.  Kevin Hanes won the race with a time of 17:07.  Mike Reubens had a strong race and finished 9th.  Liam Bull  ran a personal best 20:22.  Ben Truesdell and RJ Seager rounded out Wilson’s top five.

The teams begin league play tomorrow at Akron.

9/24/08
The girls’ cross-country team got off to a good start by defeating Akron and CSAT.  Wilson used a strong team pack to win the meet.  Amber Lehman was 3rd, Kari Kopchick 4th, Bridgette Austin 5th, Stephanie Paduano 6th, and Savannah King 8th.

The boys’ cross-country team defeated CSAT and lost to Akron last night.  Kevin Hanes won the race in a time of 17:13.  Mike Reubens placed 3rd with a time of 18:36.  Liam Bull placed 8th, Ben Truesdell 9th, and Kyle Hanes 15th.

The team travels to Rochester on Saturday for the McQuaid Invitational.  

9/27/08
The girls’ cross-country team placed 10th out of 35 teams at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday.  Amber Lehman was Wilson’s top finisher with a time of 20:29.  Rounding out Wilson’s top five were Kari Kopchick, Bridgette Austin, Stephanie Paduano, and Alaina Kopchick.

The boys’ cross-country team was led by Kevin Hanes 4th place finish with a time of 16:05.  Mike Reubens placed 40th with a time of 17:33.  Also placing for Wilson were Ben Truesdell, Liam Bull, and Kyle Hanes. The team hosts Newfane tomorrow.

The cross-country team would like to thank everyone for their support on the gasoline raffle.  The team would also like to congratulate Mrs. Payne who won the $100 grand prize.

The boys’ cross-country team lost to Newfane yesterday.  Kevin Hanes won his second league race of the season to lead Wilson.  Mike Reubens placed third, Ben Truesdell 6th, Liam Bull 11th, and Kyle Hanes 14th.

The girls’ cross-country team also lost to Newfane 26-29.  Amber Lehman was 2nd, Kari Kopchick 3rd, Bridgette Austin 6th, Stephanie Paduano 8th, and Alania Kopchick 10th.

The girls’ cross-country team defeated Roy-Hart and Barker yesterday to improve their record to 4-1.  Amber Lehman placed 2nd overall with a time of 20:56.  Kari Kopchick placed 4th  (22:03), Bridgette Austin 7th (23:21), and Alaina Kopchick 8th (23:38). Savannah King (23:47),  Thea Hohensee (24:17) and Kayla O’Keefe (24:52) all set new PR’s yesterday.  Korena Wise rounded out Wilson’s team with a time of 26:04

The boys’ cross-country team lost to Barker and Roy-Hart yesterday.  Kevin Hanes won the race with a time of 17:22.  Mike Reubens placed 7th with a time of 18:33.  Ben Truesdell ran his best race of the season with a time of 20:10.  Setting new PR’s were Liam Bull (20:06), Kyle Hanes (21:35), and Troy Chiappone (23:21).

10/15/08
The girls’ cross-country team defeated Albion yesterday.  Amber Lehman ran her best race of the year to lead the team with a time of 20:47.  Kari Kopchick placed 4th, Bridgette Austin 5th, Stephanie Paduano 6th, and Savannah King placed 9th.  Korena Wise ran another solid race.  Setting new PR’s were Kayla O’Keefe, Thea Hohensee, Bridgette, Stephanie, and Savannah. The girls are now 6-1 and stand in second place. 

The boys’ cross-country team defeated Medina but lost to Albion yesterday.  Kevin Hanes won his 4th league race of the season to lead Wilson.  Mike Reubens ran his best race of the season to place 2nd overall.  Liam Bull, Ben Truesdell, and Kyle Hanes rounded out Wilson’s top five.  Troy Chiappone also ran his best race of the season to set a new PR.

10/27/08
Kevin Hanes
led the way for the Lakemen on Saturday at Lakeside Park.  Kevin finished first with a time of 17:56 to claim the individual league championship.  Mike Reubens ran a great race to place 7th overall and earn first team all-league honors.  Other results included Ben Truesdell 40th, Liam Bull 41st, Kyle Hanes 53rd, and Troy Chiappone 74th.  The boys placed 6th with a team scored of 121.

11/10/08
At the state cross-country meet Saturday on Long Island, Kevin Hanes ran his best race of the season and placed 18th with a time of 17:35.  With his 18th place finish, Kevin made the All-State Team.  Congratulations Kevin.

10/27/08
Girls’ Claim First N-O League Title in School History
On Saturday the girls placed first at the N-O League Meet.  Amber Lehman finished 2nd overall with a time of 20:55.  Wilson then had a strong pack come in to help in the team victory.  Kari Kopchick placed 9th, Bridgette Austin 10th, Stephanie Paduano 12th, and Alania Kopchick 17th to round out the top five for the Lakewomen.  Also having solid races were Thea Hohensee 18th, Savannah King 22nd, Korena Wise 30th and Kayla O’Keefe 32nd.  With the victory at All-League the girls’ finished the season 13-1 and tied Newfane for the league crown.

The girls’ cross-country team ended the season on a strong note by placing 3rd at the sectional race on Friday.  Amber Lehman led the way for Wilson by placing 10th overall with a time of 21:12.  Senior Kari Kopchick had her best race of the season and finished 15th  with a time of 21:42.  Rounding out Wilson’s team was Bridgette Austin (21st), Stephanie Paduano (23rd), Thea Hohensee (46th), Savannah King (47th), and Kayla O’Keefe (58th).  Congratulations girls on a fantastic season.

The boys’ cross-country team placed 7th at sectionals Friday.  Leading the way for the Lakemen was Kevin Hanes, who placed 3rd overall.  Mike Reubens ran an excellent race and placed 11th.  Ben Truesdell placed 51st, Liam Bull 53rd, and Kyle Hanes 71st.  Troy Chiappone ended the season by setting a new PR of 22:56.

With his 3rd place finish Kevin will be participating in the state meet next Saturday in Long Island.
