Larry Lash Field
Home of the Wilson Lakewomen

The Wilson Central School District, in conjunction with the Wilson All Sports Booster Club, dedicated the girls’ varsity softball field in the name of the only softball coach Wilson has had in its 34th year of softball.

The dedication ceremony took place on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 pm. Larry Lash started the softball program at Wilson in the spring of 1975 and 33 years later he is still at the helm. His Lakewomen have successfully defended their Niagara-Orleans Championship again this year.  All in all, Coach Lash has had 7 League Championships, 6 Sectional Championships, 1 State Championship and is presently 2nd in all time wins in NY State with a record of 432 wins and 275 losses.

The Lakewomen hosted the North Tonawanda Lady Jacks for an 11 AM game. People were then led to the auditorium for the dedication ceremony, which was followed by the unveiling of the center field sign outside. After a brief intermission due to rainy weather, over 30 Lakewomen alumni participated in two games. A social wrapped up the days events at the Wilson House, where former players perused scrapbooks.
