The 25 Book Club
is open to all students in the Middle School. It was established
to assist students in reaching the New York State Learning Standard
of reading 25 books per year.
To become a member of
the 25 Book
Club you must read 25 Accelerated
Reader books within a school year. Each time you pass an Accelerated
Reader Quiz, a mark will be placed after your name on the sheets
outside the Library Media Center. There will be awards for those
who read the new state requirement of 25 books in a school year
and for those who reach a commendable level of achievement under
this goal. Students reaching the 25 book goal will also be able
to paint a masonry block in the seventh grade hallway entitled
the "25
Book Club Wall of Fame"
with their name and a design made especially by them for all to
see for years to come. Students will also receive a special tee-shirt
emblazoned with a photograph of their block. In addition to the
masonry block and the tee-shirt, students may also create a bookmark
for each book that they read. The bookmark will be laminated and
kept with the book each time it is signed out.
