Thomas Marks Elementary School

430 Young Street
Wilson, New York 14172
716.751.9341 Extension 117

Mr. John Diodate- Principal
Mrs. Anna Hanna- Secretary

Located in the Village of Wilson, we provide K-5 services to approximately 375 students. The school is characterized by a friendly family atmosphere with skilled and dedicated teachers, hardworking students, and supportive parents. Student achievement as measured on the New York State Tests is among the highest in Western New York.

TM Elementary offers a wide range of supports for each student including: reading lab, math lab, occupational therapy, speech therapy, before school acadmeic assistance, and completely integrated technology services.

The PTA is very active at school and supports educational programs for students as well as bringing in speakers on topical issues for parents.  Our Fall Festival, Just Say No programs and Parents as Reading Partners(PARP) are just some of the events and programs to PTA Sponsors. Many members, parents and grandparents, volunteer support in the classrooms or work with individual students.

The rich history of the surrounding community provides students with a great advantage. In close proximity to Niagara Falls, Old Fort Niagara, the Erie Canal, and the Underground Railroad, students are afforded opportunities that few other schools can offer. The students add to the community with days of Care and Share to give back to the community and to provide a "happy holiday" to local community members.

Thomas Marks Elementary is part of a district that cares about children and their welfare and that lives up to its motto: "Where Children Succeed".

This year, we welcome Mr. John Diodate as the new principal who succeeds Elaine Moon, who retired after ten years as principal of Thomas Marks. This is Mr. Diodate's 14th year in education. He comes to us from Lewiston-Porter High School where he was the assistant principal. Mr. Diodate taught kindergarten, first, second, and fifth grades in both elementary buildings at Lew-Port before his three years as assistant principal. Prior to his tenure at Lew-Port, Mr. Diodate taught fifth grade for two years at St. Leo The Great School. He is excited to be working with the students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community members of the Wilson School District.
